Bell Rotary is our largest house, and is ideal for people seeking a more active lifestyle. Set back off the leafy Kings Road, it is within a few minutes walk of the fashionable Ballyhackamore, with an array of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. For those wanting to stretch their legs, it is within close proximity to the Comber Greenway. Ballyhackamore has excellent bus links to Connswater and the City, as well as out to Stormont, Dundonald and the Ulster Hospital.

Bell Rotary has a busy schedule of activities, and those with green fingers enjoy raised beds for easy access, as well as a greenhouse where flowers and vegetables are grown.

While maintaining the character of an old Belfast house, Bell Rotary has been purpose built. All bedrooms are ensuite with level-access showers. There are three sitting rooms, a small kitchen where residents can make drinks and snacks, and comfortable seating areas are positioned throughout the house. The mature gardens include a large lawn, seating areas and a sun house.

Bell Rotary has a professional kitchen with a chef, and all meals are prepared on site and served at tables of four.

Bell Rotary House offers 19 rooms with some suitable for couples.

New sensory garden designed to enhance the lives of residents at Bell Rotary House

Following receipt of a grant from the Wolfson Foundation and a generous bequest from a previous resident, Abbeyfield Belfast Society recently completed a project to create an inspiring and calming sensory garden at Bell Rotary House. The newly re-landscaped garden provides a more appropriate outdoor space, designed specifically for those living with sensory and mobility impairments.

From a ‘grow your own’ area complete with green houses and raised beds built with mobility in mind, to an endless circular path which encourages activity and movement, a family-friendly space built with elements for young people to enjoy and encourage visitors to stay longer, and carefully-selected plants to provide a calming and tranquil space complete with a full-sensory experience of sight, sound, and smell, the new sensory garden at Bell Rotary House is not only a beautiful space for residents and their guests, but one which the Abbeyfield Belfast team hopes will help residents to maintain their well-being through increased exercise, quiet reflection, engagement with other residents, and a creative outlet.
