Board Trustee
Salary: Unremunerated, however out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed
At Abbeyfield Belfast alleviating loneliness in older people has been at the heart of what we do for nearly 65 years.
As a charity we are governed by a Board of Trustees who possess various key skills necessary to help guide and drive us forward. We are seeking expressions of interest from individuals who share our values.
This is an exciting opportunity to join us – With four facilities in Belfast and the success of our recently launched Harberton Hall, a new concept in Supported Retirement Living. We are now looking to the future as we consider our next step in leading the way to the creation of quality, secure and sustainable supported accommodation for active older people.
As a charity trustee you will work with your fellow directors to make the decisions that really matter, including decisions about our strategy, governance, finances, activities, and plans for the future.
The Board consists of professional people across various disciplines which we constantly seek to broaden, strengthen, and renew.
We welcome applications from all sections of our community, and particularly those with experience in the following areas:
· Finance and Accounting
· Business Risk Management
We ask that you consider the time element for preparing for and attending between 4 to 6 two-hour Board meetings per year, which are usually held early evening via Zoom and an annual AGM held in person in November. We have several committees and most of our Trustees will take on a position on one or two of these. There will also be an invitation to attend various events in our houses throughout the year, where availability permits.
Abbeyfield Belfast is an equal opportunity employer and as such will consider all qualified applicants regardless of gender, race, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age.
